Senior Value
Chain Development Advisor
This position will be based in Ilam with travel to Eastern Hilly
Regions and to Kathmandu . The advisor would be responsible for
development of sustainable value chains of Tea, selected NTFPs and
Cash Crops for improvement in market access for the poor.
Core Responsibilities:
• Ensure availability and utility of market intelligence to
support development of strategy or Value Chain Development (VCD).
• Develop, localise and refine VCD strategy and
interventions in Eastern Region.
• Facilitate networks and linkages among national and
cross-border Value Chain Actors to upgrade them from informal sector
to formal organisations.
• Facilitate localised implementation of interventions
using models such as Public Private Partnerships, Local Economic
Development and Value Chain Development.
• Advise on key policy and legislative issues at local,
regional and national levels to decrease barriers for prosperity of
economically active poor.
Required Competencies:
• Masters or equivalent degree in Management, Agricultural
Economics or related disciplines.
• Minimum seven years of experience in fields related to
marketing of NTFPs/ Cash Crops.
• Knowledge and positive attitude towards social inclusion
and gender sensitive approaches.
• Proven ability to build capacity of stakeholders through
advisory or consulting approaches.
• Experienced in facilitation, training and reading
materials development in related areas.

Social
Inclusion and Gender Advisor
The position will be based in Panchthar with frequent field
visits to Mechi and Koshi Zones. The overall focus will be on
providing advisory services to civil society and government agencies
on social inclusion mechanisms.
Core Responsibilities:
• Advocate the issue of social exclusion and argue the
importance of embedding with livelihood and basic needs perspective.
• Identify gaps and build capacity of service delivery
clients/partners to stimulate socially inclusive approaches.
• Identify potential clients/ partners who can contribute
to the overall goals of the respective programmes.
• Coordinate and support the SNV advisory services in the
districts.
• Contribute to the organisation learning of SNV Nepal as
an advisory organisation.
Required Competencies:
• Bachelors degree with at least five years of working
experience in areas related with issues of dalit, janajati, women
and other excluded groups.
• Experience in working for conflict management and social
inclusion.
• Proven exposure in enhancing capacity of clients through
relevant advice and client selection.
• Exposure to providing advisory inputs through
consultation, training, facilitation, coaching and networking.

Portfolio Advisor
The District Portfolio Advisor will be stationed in Ilam
with the overall responsibility to provide advisory support to DDC
and partner NGOs in the areas of good governance.
Core Responsibilities:
• Provide advisory services to build capacity of partners
including DDC, NGO and CBOs.
• Support in developing capacity of value chain actors in
selected sub-sectors through governance related interventions.
• Provide technical backstopping in good-governance related
activities.
• Contribute to knowledge development and support in
collective learning.
Required Competencies:
• Bachelors degree in related field with minimum of five
years of relevant work experience including two years in remote
area(s).
• Capacity to strengthen organisations through
advisory support.
• Strong advisory, relationship building and representation
skills.
Senior Advisor Water, Sanitation and
Hygiene
The position will be based in Kathmandu with frequent travel to
portfolios in the East, Central and Western Regions.
Core Responsibilities:

Refine and evolve the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) concepts
and strategies at the Country and Portfolio level and translate
these into action-oriented initiatives.
· Support in
assessment, design and delivery of capacity building interventions
for the water, sanitation and hygiene sector stakeholders in the
region.
· Provide quality
advisory services to strengthen service delivery capacity through
institutional strengthening of WaSH actors and clients.
· Reinforce networks
and strengthen knowledge development, collaboration and support
among actors in the sector.
· Support development
of a sector strategy for Local Capacity Builders and guide
partnership relationships.
· Network and represent
SNV at national and local level forums.
Required
Competencies:
·
Masters degree in Water Resource Management, Sanitation and Hygiene
or related field with at least ten years of working experience
in the WaSH sector.
· Proven
ability of innovative and successful institutional development and
organisational strengthening interventions.
· Exposure to
working with pro-poor, social inclusion and governance issues in
rural development context.
· Strong
exposure to providing consultative or advisory inputs, especially to
organisations involved in water, sanitation and hygiene sector.
